Home decorators who enjoy the elegant look of soft sheer shades can get a special discount on the window treatment from Blinds Chalet.

Through December 17, the company is offering a $25 mail-in rebate on both light filtering and room darkening soft sheer shades up to a maximum of 10 shades. The blinds rebate form can be downloaded from the Blinds Chalet website.

The selections include window coverings for privacy or one that allows a clear view of the the outdoors. "Sheer shades offer a light filtering privacy fabric that can be adjusted to a sheer fabric for more view," states the company's website.

In the room darkening versions, as much as 80 percent of the light is blocked.

Soft sheer shades also are known for their durability, which comes from the nylon and polyester blend fabric. In one line of horizontal sheer shades from Blinds Chalet, a larger, 3-inch vane is available. It comes with a matching headrail that can be upgraded to a deluxe headrail with a fabric insert, as well as an Omni cord mechanism that is standard to this window treatment.
