Pleated shades are a stylish window treatment for both office and home designs
Nov 3 2010
In Kenya, designing office space has emerged as the latest market for the work of interior decorators, according to BusinessDailyAfrica.com.
Office design has taken on the colors and textures of home decorating.
"Five years ago, there were about 30 or less interior [design] outfits. Currently, with more entrants into the business, we estimate there are over 100," said Wokabi Ndegwa, a local interior designer.
The increase in demand for interior design has been matched with corporate, as well as residential, clients who are willing to pay top dollar for quality work.
Kenya’s property market has been flourishing in the last three years, as demand has caused home prices to rise more than 100 percent during that time, according to Hass Consult, a property development firm. The interior design industry has been a recipient of that growth.
"Ten years ago, only the high-end corporates spent on interior design for their offices. Now even small office owners want to achieve an attractive look that matches their brand," Humphrey Odhiambo, chief executive of Realwealth Investments Limited, told the website.
Pleated shades are a stylish window treatment for both office and home designs. They provide the same privacy as regular shades, and come in a variety of materials, colors and finishes to match any decorating scheme.
