Cutting The Window Blind Slats
- Determine the desired width of the blind slats. A typical deduction on inside mount blinds is about 1/2" of the window frame measurement
- We recommend taping the ends of the window blind slats to prevent the wood from splintering. Align the blind slats and the bottom rail so they are even. Warp all the slats and the bottom rail in the location that is to be cut.
- Measure the distance to cut each blind slat and mark a line on the taped slats.
- Place the Blinds on the saw.
- Slide the slats so they are extend past the blind headrail. You want the headrail to be out of the way of the saw blade as you cut the blinds.
- Cut the blind slats and bottom rail at the marked length.
Cutting The Window Blind Headrail
- Mark the length to cut off the headrail.
- Remove the metal end stiffener from the end of the blind headrail.
- Cut the headrail on the mark using the hacksaw or tin snips. Remember that the edges of the headrail will be hidden by the brackets as well as the valance so it doesn't have to be perfect.
- File any loose edges.
- Place the end stiffener back into the headrail of the window blinds.
