When measuring window blinds for bay windows, you will need to calculate the intersecting points of the blinds to determine the width of each piece. The first step is to select a window shade, noting that different types of shades will have different depths. - Cut two pieces of cardboard at the thickness of what the window blinds would be and approximately 12 inches long. Once again, see the specific product specifications for the depth.
- Position the pieces of cardboard so the front edges meet as if they are the actual window blinds at each intersection point(See image).
- Make a small mark on the front edge where they intersect. Repeat the step for both blind intersection points.
- The next step is to measure each bow window blind. The left blind measurement will be from the intersection point we marked to the window frame. Make sure that your measurement is an equal distance away from the window as the intersection point. Follow the same steps for the right blind using the right intersection point.
- Measure the center bay blinds by measuring the distance from each intersection point
- Specify inside mount when ordering if you have the depth. See individual product description for minimum window frame depths.
