Months have passed since the recall of more than 50 million Roman Shades and Roll-up blinds. The recall came as the result of the deaths of five infants and many more near strangulations over the past four years. Children have been getting caught in the dangling cords that help raise and lower these blinds.

Now, nearly five months later, parents still have questions and other parents are uninformed as to the dangers of dangling blinds. The following is an attempt to clarify questions parents may have.

•    How can I tell if my blinds could be a danger to my children? Inspect each and every window treatment in your house to see if there are any cords or lines dangling. The cords are usually found hanging to the right or left of the blind and are used to raise and lower the blind.

•    What types of window treatments are safe to install? Cordless window blinds and shades are the safest to install. They use the bottom rail of the window treatment for raising and lowering them, eliminating hazardous cords.

•    What if I can’t afford new window treatments? The Window Covering Safety Council offers free retrofit kits for all types of blinds as well as instructions as to how to install them- http://www.windowcoverings.org/

If the window coverings do not fit, please let us know within 30 days of receiving the items. The blinds/shades will be remade at the correct dimensions at no cost to you unless there is a difference in price between the old and new sizes or if the new size requires an oversize shipping fee. Limit is 1 remake per blind/shade. All remakes will have to be remade in the same color, feature and specifications, no changes are allowed.

Shutters,custom graphic shades, commercial/dealer orders are not covered.

Any mis-measurements reported after 30 days will not be covered, however, new blinds and shades can be ordered with an additional 10% discount.

30 Day Returns

If for any reason you are not satisfied with the window coverings and wish to return, please notify us within 30 days of receiving the order. Our customer care department will provide a Return Authorization Number (RGA) and shipping address to return the product. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. Refunds will be processed 2-3 business days after receiving the items (Guaranteed to Love fee is not refundable).
