Q:
Do you have any shallow mount options?
A:
To answer this question more effectively, it is essential to understand the distinction between the minimum mounting depth and the flush mounting depth.

The minimum mounting depth is the depth that you need minimally to mount your custom window shades. This typically refers to the size of the brackets or the location of the screw holes on the bracket.

The flush mounting depth is what you need to ensure everything fits inside the window frame without the blind protruding past the front edge. We have listed the minimum and flush mounting depth on each of our products. Whether it is a traditional roman shade, wood blind, or mini blind, we have you covered. Finding blinds and shades that fit a shallow frame can be a challenge, as installing blinds in such windows requires careful consideration of space and product design.

As an example, let’s say that you have 1” mounting depth. The product that you are looking at says that you need a minimum mounting depth of 1”, with a flush mounting depth of 2”. You have 1”, so you will be able to install the shades, but since you need 2” as a flush mount, 1” will protrude out of the window frame. Some solutions are designed specifically for shallow frames and do not stick out beyond the window, creating a clean and cohesive look.

We offer a range of products that require a minimum mounting depth of less than one inch. There are numerous fantastic choices available for shallow windows, and selecting the perfect blinds offers benefits such as improved functionality, enhanced energy efficiency, and a style tailored to your needs. As you browse through the products, if you click on the Specs tab (located next to the Color tab) on the product description page, you will see these requirements.

When considering product variety, roman shades can be mounted inside shallow frames, and there are various fabric options and patterns to complement your decor and create the desired look. Cellular shades, with their unique honeycomb shape, trap air to provide insulation and add texture to your window treatment, enhancing both comfort and energy efficiency.

In the specs tab, you’ll also notice that some products are preferred for their ability to fully cover the window or hardware, depending on your preferred style and function. Choosing the right solution helps complement your room’s design while addressing the challenge of shallow window frames.

The only product that we have 1” as a flush mounting depth is the aluminum mini blinds. These can be a good solution for shallow frames, especially when you want to avoid treatments that stick out, creating a streamlined appearance that complements your space.

Introduction to Shallow Window Treatments

Shallow window treatments are specifically designed for windows with minimal frame depth, providing a stylish and functional solution for spaces where traditional blinds or shades may not be suitable. If you have shallow windows, finding the right window treatments can transform your room by providing privacy, controlling natural light, and complementing your decor. Options like shallow depth blinds for windows, roller shades, and cellular shades are crafted to fit snugly within limited spaces, ensuring a sleek and tailored look. Whether you want to maximize sunlight, add a touch of elegance, or require a treatment that suits your needs, there are numerous options to choose from. In this section, we’ll help you navigate the world of shallow window treatments, allowing you to select the best option for your windows and create a space that’s both beautiful and functional.

Types of Shallow Depth Window Blinds

When it comes to shallow windows, there’s no need to sacrifice style or functionality. Shallow-depth window blinds are available in a variety of materials and designs to suit any taste. Faux wood blinds offer the classic look of real wood with the added benefit of fitting into minimal-depth frames, making them a practical choice for restricted spaces. Roller shades are another sleek option, providing a crisp, modern appearance while taking up very little space within the window frame. Cellular shades, also known as honeycomb shades, are popular for their energy efficiency and ability to filter light while maintaining a slim profile, making them ideal for shallow windows. Plantation shutters can also be custom-tailored to fit shallow frames, adding timeless elegance and excellent light control. By considering your window depth, frame style, and desired level of privacy and light, you can find the perfect shallow depth window blinds to enhance your room’s style and functionality.

Mounting Options for Shallow Windows

Choosing the right mounting option is essential for shallow windows. Inside mount is a popular choice, where the blinds or shades are installed within the window frame for a clean, built-in look. However, if your window frame doesn’t have enough depth to accommodate the mounting hardware, an outside mount may be the best solution. With an outside mount, the window treatment is attached to the wall or the window frame outside the recess, allowing for a perfect fit even in restricted spaces. This approach not only ensures your blinds or shades fit properly but also creates a sleek, finished appearance that complements your decor. Carefully considering the depth and frame of your window will help you determine whether an inside or outside mount is the right option for your shallow windows.

Measuring for Shallow Windows

Accurate measurements are key to ensuring your window treatments fit perfectly in shallow windows. Start by measuring the width of your window at the top, middle, and bottom, and use the narrowest measurement to guarantee a snug fit. Next, measure the height at three points and use the longest measurement for the best coverage. Don’t forget to check the window depth—measure from the glass to the edge of the frame, taking note of any obstructions that could affect installation. Knowing the exact window depth will help you choose shades or blinds that fit within the available space. By taking precise measurements, you’ll be able to select window treatments that not only look great but also function seamlessly in your shallow windows. Installation Considerations

Installing window treatments in shallow windows requires attention to detail to achieve the best results. For inside mounts, make sure the mounting brackets are securely attached to the window frame and that the blinds or shades operate smoothly within the limited space. If you opt for an outside mount, carefully measure and mark the wall or window frame to ensure your treatments are level and properly aligned. Consider how your choice will affect natural light, energy efficiency, and the overall look of your room. Selecting the right window treatments and installing them correctly will help you maintain both style and functionality, even in spaces with minimal depth.
