Valance Returns & Measurements
Valance returns are included with inside and outside mount shades. Inside-mount top-down/bottom-up shades and shades with movable liners cannot be ordered with returns; these styles can be ordered as outside mounts with returns.
Outside Mount With Valance:
For standard shades, the headrail and shade fabric are made to the ordered width. The valance is 1/2" wider than the ordered width, extending 1/4" beyond the headrail on each side.
Inside Mount With Valance:
For inside mount, the shade fabric will be 3/8" narrower than the ordered width to ensure a proper fit. The valance comes standard with returns and is made to the ordered width, while the headrail is 1/2" narrower, allowing 1/4" of clearance on each side.
Waterfall Shades:
For both inside and outside mount waterfall shades, the headrail is 1/2" narrower than the ordered width, leaving 1/4" of clearance on each side. The shade fabric wraps over the headrail to form the waterfall valance. Inside mount shades have a 3/8" overall fabric deduction.

Multiple Blinds on a Shared Headrail
Because large blinds and shades can be heavier and more difficult to raise and lower, the 2-on-1 or 3-on-1 headrail option allows two or three smaller shades to share one common headrail and valance. This creates a cleaner, more streamlined look across wider windows.
A small 1/4" to 1/2" gap between adjacent shades is normal and required for proper operation.

Edge Binding
Edge Binding are cloth tapes that are wrapped on the edge of the shades to help prevent fraying as well as adding an elegant look to the shades. Our standard edge binding is 1 1/4" wide with approximately 1/2" of fabric showing on each side of the shades. Wide Edge Binding is 3” wide, with approximately 1 1/2" of fabric showing on each side of the shade.
Continuous Cord Loop
This lift option has a looping lift cord adjacent to the shade. The fabric/material is narrower on the control side allowing the control to hang to the side without interfering with the lift of the shade. Shades with Continuous Cord Loop option may have a light gap on black-out shades.

Hold Downs (Outside Mount Only)
