Whether you're installing shades in one room or throughout your home, these articles will help you understand the available options before ordering custom solar screen shades.

Choosing the Right Openness Factor

One of the most important decisions when selecting solar shades is choosing the right openness percentage. Lower openness factors, such as 1% or 3%, provide greater glare reduction, UV protection, and daytime privacy. Higher openness factors, such as 5% or 10%, preserve a brighter room and offer a clearer outdoor view.

Our expert guides explain how openness percentages affect visibility, heat reduction, glare control, and privacy so you can confidently select the best fabric for your space.

Compare Solar Shades with Other Window Treatments

Our room-by-room guides explain where solar shades perform best and how to choose the right openness factor for each space.

UV Protection, Heat Reduction & Energy Efficiency

Solar screen fabrics are engineered to help reduce solar heat gain and block a significant percentage of harmful UV rays that can fade flooring, furniture, artwork, and cabinetry. Our articles explain how solar shades improve indoor comfort, reduce glare, and contribute to better energy efficiency throughout the year while preserving natural daylight.

Installation, Cleaning & Maintenance

Proper installation and routine care help your solar shades continue performing their best. Our maintenance guides explain how to clean solar fabrics safely, care for woven screen materials, and troubleshoot common issues to keep your shades looking and operating like new.
