Q:
We are interested in your woven bamboo blinds. However, we are trying to decide if we could do inside or outside mountings. Your instructions do not show the size of the brackets to determine if we can do inside or outside mounts. Can you please provide the dimensions for each if they are different?A:
Mounting depth for bamboo blinds will vary based on the product. The depth for mounting each woven wood shade inside or outside the window frame is based on the headrail. The bamboo shade headrail will vary based on the bamboo shade selected as well as the type of lift control. On the Tavarua woven wood shades, you would need the following space to mount the blinds:
Minimum Mounting Depth: 1"
Minimum Flush Mounting Depth: 2.25"
Headrail Dimension: 1.5" x .75"
Minimum Flush Mounting Depth w/ Moveable Liner: 2.75"
All other woven wood shades, which are made by a different manufacturer, require the following space:
Minimum Mounting Depth: 0.995"
Minimum Flush Mounting Depth: 2.25"
Headrail Dimension: 1.5" x .75"
Minimum Flush Mounting Depth w/ Liner: 3.25"
Minimum Flush Mounting Depth w/ Rollease: 4.25"
Woven wood shades can be mounted inside narrow window frames but a flush mount refers the minimum depth needed for the entire bamboo shade to sit completely within the window frame. If your window frame is below the minimum window frame depth you will need to use an outside mount bamboo blind.
