Q:
I'm looking for solar shades that you can't see thru at night. Do you have any solar shades that you can see through during the day but not at night?
A:
Solar shades are designed to filter light and uv rays, reducing glare, while not blocking the view through the windows. If a window shade allows you to see through them during the daytime, you will be able to see into the room at night. With screen shades you are able to see from the darker side of the shades into the light. During the daytime you will be able to see out but harder to see in. At night when the light are on in the room it will be easy to see in. Solar shades are not designed for privacy. If you would like a window shade that reduces glare while still providing privacy we do have a few options. First would be our day/night shades. Day/night shades are two shades where one can be lowered at a time. During the day the sheer shade can be lowered and at night the privacy shades are lowered.
Another alternative is a woven wood shade with a loose weave and a movable liner. The liner can be raised during the day, letting filtered light pass through the woven wood shades.
Last would be soft sheer shades. These window shades have a privacy or blackout liner suspended between sheer fabric. During the day the sheer fabric filters light and at night the privacy vane is closed blocking the view through the window.
