Q:
Have three questions about the double cell shades. 1. What is the difference between the ComforTrack and EnergyTrack products?
2. How durable are the plastic tracks?
3. What is the R-value difference between the ComforTrack 3/8" Translucent Double Cell Shades and the Deluxe 3/8" Translucent Double Cell Shades?
A:
EnergyTrack shades are our own private label version of the Comfortex ComforTrack shades. There is no difference between the two window shades other than the name of the product and the name of the colors. Both are designed with the same fabrics and sidetrack insulating system. The sidetracks are very durable. They attach to the wall and do not support the shade at all. The sidetracks simply cover the light gaps on the sides of the shades. The honeycomb shades have small grooves cut into the edge that slide over the tracks.
A standard honeycomb double cell shade will vary by product but will have a lower R-value than the ComforTrack shades. Our Deluxe 3/8" Translucent Double Cell Shades has an r-value of 4.6 while our ComforTrack 3/8" Translucent Double Cell Shades has a much higher R-value at 6.5. The higher the R-value the better insulator and the more the window shades save on energy bills. For the best insulating window shades choose our ComforTrack shades.
