Q:
I have Hunter Douglas Silhouette blinds now in my living room and they are 15 years old and need to be replaced is there a way I can just replace the fabric part and leave the plastic casing in tack?A:
The Hunter Douglas Silhouette Blinds combine timeless elegance with functionality—thanks to soft, S-shaped fabric vanes that appear to float between two sheer layers. Designed to transform harsh daylight into a gentle glow while delivering discreet daytime privacy, Silhouette blinds stand apart from generic sheer shadings. Their refined aesthetics and light control make them a top-tier choice for designer window treatments.Silhouette Blinds: Exceptional Features

- UV Protection: Reduces fading of interior furnishings—up to 88% with vanes open; 99% when closed. :contentReference[oaicite:10]{index=10}
- Enhanced Light Management: Use Hunter Douglas enhancements like ClearView® (improved outward visibility) and A Deux™ (dual shading) for tailored light and style. :contentReference[oaicite:11]{index=11}
- Custom Control Options: Choose from manual systems like UltraGlide® and LiteRise®, or motorized automation like PowerView® for convenience and safety.
Unfortunately there is now way to replace the fabric on Hunter Douglas Silhouette blinds. You would have to replace the entire sheer shade. Even if you could replace the fabric the cost of the fabric alone and the labor to retrofit the blinds would cost the same as a new blind.
We do not carry the Hunter Douglas brand Silhouette blinds but we do carry our own private label version of the soft sheer shades. They are comparable in quality and come in either a light filtering or a blackout fabric and an assortment of colors to choose from. Shop our soft sheer shades today!
