Sliding panles are ordered slighly wider than required for a 2 1/2" panel overlap. To calculate the approximate width use the formula below:
Calculate number of gaps:
g = number of panels - 1
example: 4 (panels) - 1 = 3 gaps
Calculate total gap width:
gw = g * 2 1/2"
example: 3 gaps * 2 1/2" = 7 1/2"
Calculate total width:
tw = ordered width + gw
example: 96" (ordered width) + 7 1/2" = 103 1/2"
Calculate panel width:
pw = tw / number of panels
example: 103 1/2" / 4 (panels) = 25 7/8" approximate panel width
