With SlumberShade and a light shade color, does any black show insider the room (say around the tracks)?

No. The SlumberShades are made with blackout fabric that has a mylar coating inside the fabric cells. The sidetracks will be the color you choose. The interior of the tracks will be black to block light but the black will not be visible unless the window shades are open.

What is the fabric? How does it do with condensation in the Winter?

The cellular fabric is made from spun polyester with a mylar coating inside each cell to block the light. With the added sidetracks these window shades block the light from entering the room.

The SlumberShades come with sidetracks that stop the light as well as insulate better. If your windows have condensation because they trap air between the windows and the shades there will be more condensation.

Can the SlumberShade 3/8" shades be mounted on the outside of the window? In other words, mounted on the wall itself, not the window?

Unfortunately the SlumberShades must be mounted with an enclosure or inside mount only. The reason for this is that the side tracks must be mounted to the sides of the window frame.

I am very pleased with the SlumberShade blinds. The buying process was very good, the blinds were delivered in the expected few week time frame. The blinds fit my measured window as expected. Installation was straightforward, though like most mini-blinds clipping them into the brackets took some time. I will say that there is a little light leakage through the blinds themselves in bright sunlight, and a little leaking through the cleverly designed side channels, but very good overall.

The Slumbershade 3/8 double cell performs fine. It blocks the light as described. The side channels don't quite block light at top and bottom, adn along the bottom, it said there were magnets to be used, but non were shipped (on all 4 of the blinds). I think the Blinds were cut a little short, if I were to use them again, I would order 1/2" longer. side tape/magnets don't quite stick as the surface isn't quite flat/square. They put thick brushed tape on the top, that needs to be cut @ the bracket location and some of the installations you really had to push it tight to get it to lock in. overall, we're sleeping better with 98% less light than before.

We love these! They block out the light completely, especially with the channels on the sides and bottom. We're really happy with these blinds and the lift control we chose (continuous cord loop). We originally had a professional come out and they quoted us a crazy amount for a similar product. I'm so happy I did more research and found Blinds Chalet.

We like these blinds and the side tracks really help with light restriction. We got the top down bottom up blinds and there is still some light that sneaks through at the top but overall it is much better than what we had. The installation instructions could be a bit better - for example the tracks had light blocker on one side of the top but we weren't sure if they went at the back or the front of the shade.

These are the best! If you work shift work and have to sleep during the day, or heck, just want to watch a movie or take a nap - these shades block out the daylight! The track system is the best way to block the light from the outside. I’ve now had these installed since 2015, they are easily vacuumed to remove any dust that might accumulate. Also, very easy to install!

What Is Covered

Our window coverings are covered against manufacturing defects in materials or craftsmanship when used as intended, provided that:

  • The product has been correctly measured, installed, and operated.
  • All Blinds Chalet guidelines regarding product limitations, maintenance, and care have been followed.

Who Is Eligible

This warranty applies solely to the original purchaser of the product and is non-transferable.


Blinds Chalet’s Responsibility

If a covered defect is confirmed, Blinds Chalet will, at its discretion, repair the product, replace affected parts, or provide a comparable replacement.


Costs not included: The customer is responsible for expenses related to shipping as well as any measuring, installation, removal, or reinstallation services. Labor charges, service visits, and similar costs are not covered by this warranty.

What Is Not Covered

  • Damage resulting from accidents, alterations, misuse, abuse, or neglect.
  • Improper measurement, installation, cleaning, or maintenance.
  • Normal wear and tear, including fading, discoloration, or deterioration from sunlight or moisture.
  • Frayed cords, cord breakage, or reduced cord performance due to age or heavy use.

Fading and normal aging of materials are expected characteristics and are not considered defects.

  • Shipping for warranty issues is the responsibility of the customer to and from the repair facility. Packaging on return shipments is the responsibility of the customer.
