This guide (for Bali brand motorization only) shows how to create routines that run your shades, rooms, or groups on a schedule, apply Favorite positions, and keep everything in sync.



What You Need


  • Bali motorized shades added to the Bali Motorization app

  • A Bali gateway/hub or direct connection (whichever your Bali system uses)

  • Latest app version and solid Wi-Fi for the gateway

  • (Optional) Saved Favorite positions for quick scene-style routines


What Routines Can Do


  • Time-based schedules: Run at specific times on selected days (weekdays/weekends/custom).

  • Sunrise/Sunset (if supported): Trigger around natural light with adjustable offsets (e.g., 15 minutes before sunset).

  • Apply Favorites: Send shades to saved positions for glare control, privacy, or view.

  • Whole-room or group control: Move multiple windows together for a consistent look.

  • Multi-step flows (if available): Add steps with brief delays (e.g., tilt first, then lower).


Create Your First Routine — Step by Step


  1. Open the Bali Motorization app > go to Automations / Routines > tap Create Routine (menu names may vary by app version).

  2. Name it clearly (e.g., “Morning Open,” “Evening Privacy”).

  3. Choose a trigger:
    • Time: Set the time and select repeat days.

    • Sunrise/Sunset (if supported): Pick sunrise or sunset and add an offset (e.g., +10 min).


  4. Add actions: Select the Shade / Room / Group, then choose where to move:
    • Favorite/My: Jumps to a saved position.

    • Percentage: Set a height/position for rollers or cells (e.g., 35%).

    • TDBU rails: For top-down/bottom-up cellular, specify the mid rail and/or bottom rail target (if exposed separately in your app).


  5. (Optional) Add steps/delays if your app version supports sequencing (e.g., set mid rail, wait 10s, then lower bottom rail).

  6. Save & Test: Run the routine once from the app to confirm every shade responds the way you expect.

  • Morning Open: 7:00 AM weekdays — open living room rollers to 60% for soft daylight.

  • Workday Glare: 2:30 PM — move office solar shade to a Favorite that blocks direct sun on screens.

Best Practices


  • Keep names obvious: “Sunset Close – Downstairs” beats “Routine 2.”

  • Avoid overlap: If two routines target the same shade at similar times, stagger them by a minute.

  • Confirm time zone: Make sure the gateway/app has the right time, DST, and location (for sunrise/sunset).

  • Use Favorites: Save precise rail positions first, then point routines to those Favorites for consistency.


Troubleshooting


  • Routine didn’t run: Verify the gateway is online, your phone isn’t blocking notifications/permissions, and the routine is enabled for that day.

  • Sunrise/sunset off: Check location services/time zone in the app and adjust the offset.

  • Only some shades moved: Ensure each is included in the routine and online (battery/power good).

  • TDBU rails mismatched: Re-save rail-specific Favorites or adjust rail limits, then rerun the routine.

Are routines available for all Bali motorized shades?


Yes—routines apply to Bali brand motorization in the Bali Motorization app. Specific menu names and options may vary by motor type and app version.


Can I schedule TDBU cellular shades with split positions?


Yes. Save a Favorite that sets the mid rail and bottom rail where you want them, then create a routine that calls that Favorite (or target each rail if your app exposes them separately).


How do sunrise/sunset schedules work in the Bali app?


If supported on your setup, choose Sunrise or Sunset as the trigger and add an offset (e.g., -15 or +10 minutes). Be sure your app/gateway has the correct location and time zone.


Do routines run if my phone is away or asleep?


Yes. Routines are handled by your Bali hub/gateway once created, so they continue at the scheduled times as long as the hub and shades have power and are online.


Why did two routines conflict or override each other?


Overlapping times targeting the same shade can compete. Rename routines clearly, stagger times by a minute, or combine steps into one routine to avoid conflicts.

What Is Covered

Our window coverings are covered against manufacturing defects in materials or craftsmanship when used as intended, provided that:

  • The product has been correctly measured, installed, and operated.
  • All Blinds Chalet guidelines regarding product limitations, maintenance, and care have been followed.

Who Is Eligible

This warranty applies solely to the original purchaser of the product and is non-transferable.


Blinds Chalet’s Responsibility

If a covered defect is confirmed, Blinds Chalet will, at its discretion, repair the product, replace affected parts, or provide a comparable replacement.


Costs not included: The customer is responsible for expenses related to shipping as well as any measuring, installation, removal, or reinstallation services. Labor charges, service visits, and similar costs are not covered by this warranty.

What Is Not Covered

  • Damage resulting from accidents, alterations, misuse, abuse, or neglect.
  • Improper measurement, installation, cleaning, or maintenance.
  • Normal wear and tear, including fading, discoloration, or deterioration from sunlight or moisture.
  • Frayed cords, cord breakage, or reduced cord performance due to age or heavy use.

Fading and normal aging of materials are expected characteristics and are not considered defects.


Warranty Limitations

This warranty is exclusive and replaces any other expressed or implied warranties. No Blinds Chalet employee or representative is authorized to modify or extend these terms.


Blinds Chalet will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from product use or failure.

Resolution on Warranties and Guarantees
  • BlindsChalet.com reserves, at its discretion, the right to repair, replace or refund any blinds found defective. Limit 1 remake per covered product.
  • If there are multiple blinds/shades in the same room, only the defective product will be replaced/repaired.
  • In the event that a product, color or product feature has been discontinued and it is no longer available we will provide a substitute product as similar as possible to the original blind or shade.
  • Shipping for warranty issues is the responsibility of the customer to and from the repair facility. Packaging on return shipments is the responsibility of the customer.
  • If a product or component has been discontinued, Blinds Chalet will repair or replace the affected part with the closest available match in design and color.

    If for any reason you are not satisfied with the window coverings and wish to return them for store credit, please notify us within 30 days of receiving the order. Our customer care department will provide a Return Goods Authorization number (RGA) and shipping address for the return. Please note, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer and shipping labels are not provided. Returns are for store credit only and store credit will be available immediately after the items are received (Guaranteed to Love fee is not credited).
