Video Description
This quick guide shows how to add a new handheld remote to your Bali Motorization app setup. You’ll prepare the system, put the remote into pairing mode, add and name it in the app, assign channels or rooms, and test the buttons to make sure every shade responds as expected.
What You Need
- Phone or tablet with the Bali Motorization app installed and signed in
- Hub or Bluetooth setup (whichever your system uses) powered on and within range
- Handheld remote with fresh batteries
- Paper clip/pin (some remotes have a recessed PROG/P button)
Before You Start
- Confirm the shades already appear in the app and respond to app controls.
- Stand within a few feet of the shade or hub. Radio pairing works best when close to the device.
- Note your remote’s button: it may be labeled PROGRAM, P, or hidden under the battery cover.
Step-by-Step: Add a New Remote in the App
- Open the app Click the + button > tap Bali Remote.
- Choose the correct remote type: Single-channel, multi-channel, or two-button.
- Put the remote in pairing mode:
- Single Channel: Press and hold the programming button with apaper clip until the LED blinks.
- Multi Channel: press and hold the menu button.
- Name the remote and tap "I'm Done".
- Back in the app, Name remote.
- Assign to shade/room to the remote or to a specific shade or to a group/room (Ch.1 = Living Room, Ch.2 = Kitchen, etc.). Save.
- Test: Use Up / Stop / Down on the remote. Verify the correct shades respond. If direction is reversed, use the app’s Reverse Direction toggle for that shade (if available) or follow your shade’s direction-swap procedure.
Multi-Channel Remote Tips
- Repeat the pairing step for each channel you plan to use (Ch.1, Ch.2, etc.).
- If your remote has an All/Group button, pair that last after individual channels are set.
Favorite / My Position (If Supported)
- Move the shade to the desired spot using the remote.
- Press and hold the remote’s Favorite/“My” button until the LED blinks to save.
- Tap once later to return to that position.
Troubleshooting
- Remote not discovered: Move closer, replace batteries, and hold PROGRAM/P longer (2–5s). Power-cycle the hub if used.
- Shade doesn’t respond to buttons: Confirm the remote is assigned to that shade/channel in the app. Re-pair the channel.
- Controls the wrong window: Rename and reassign channels in the app so labels match rooms. Unpair from unintended shades.
- Out of sync limits: Use the app or shade procedure to reset/adjust limits, then re-test the remote.
