Video Description
Follow this quick video and step-by-step checklist to install Bali cordless natural (woven wood) shades with an inside mount. You’ll place and level brackets, snap the headrail into place, attach handles, and run a smooth first operation—no lift cords required.
Good to know: Inside mounts deliver a clean, built-in look. If your frame is slightly out of square or you need maximum darkness, consider an outside mount for added overlap.
What’s in the Box (Typical)
- Headrail with natural/woven wood shade pre-attached
- Inside-mount brackets (left/right) + center support for wider shades
- Mounting screws
- Cordless handles (attach to bottom rail; some models include a mid-rail handle)
Tools You’ll Need
- Tape measure, pencil, level, step stool
- Drill/driver with 1/8" (3 mm) bit, Phillips screwdriver
- Wall anchors if not fastening into wood
- Safety glasses
Before You Start
- Depth check: Verify minimum recess depth for your cassette/headrail (see your product sheet).
- Dry-fit: Hold the headrail in the opening to confirm clearance around locks/trim.
- Bracket plan: Mark bracket positions so faces are co-planar (same height and plane) for a smooth snap-in.
Inside Mount — Step-by-Step
- Mark & pre-drill: With the headrail centered in the opening, mark bracket locations flush and level. Depending on your mounting surface, you may need to pre-drill pilot holes.
- Install brackets: Fasten left/right brackets and any center support. Keep bracket faces aligned on a single plane.
- Attach the headrail: Place the headrail onto the bolts on the bracket and attach the wingnuts and tighten.
- Attach handles: Clip the handle at the center of the bottom rail (and mid-rail handle if included) for even operation.
First Run & Leveling
- Lift and lower from the center of the bottom rail using two hands for level travel.
- If one side rides higher, re-seat the headrail (ensure every bracket is locked) and cycle the shade fully up/down 2–3 times to balance internal tension.
Light & Privacy Tips
- Inside mounts may show small side light gaps—normal for shades. Layer drapery or consider an outside mount for more coverage.
- Because woven wood fabrics do not always provide complete privacy, we recommend adding a privacy liner. If you want more light control, then upgrade to a blackout liner.
- For door mounts, optional hold-down brackets (if available for your model) can reduce sway.
Care & Cleaning
- Dust with a microfiber duster or vacuum gently with a brush attachment.
- Spot-clean sparingly with mild soap and water; avoid harsh chemicals to protect natural fibers.
Troubleshooting
- Shade looks tilted: Confirm all wingnuts are fully tightened and the headrail is level; cycle fully to equalize.
- Fabric rubs trim: Slide bracket positions slightly forward/back or consider an outside mount for added clearance.
