Do bamboo blinds block out heat?

Any window treatment added to a window is better than nothing however not all window treatments insulate equally. If you are looking strictly for the best insulating blinds we recommend honeycomb shades or window shutters.

Bamboo shades offer very little insulation without a liner. They will filter the light and reduce glare, etc. Adding a liner however will significantly increase the insulation value of the bamboo blinds. If you are looking for bamboo blinds that block heat make sure you add a liner for the best results.

Liners come on the back of the bamboo blinds and can either be attached or come with their own lift cord. Liners also come in either privacy or blackout fabrics. Privacy liners will add privacy but not block all the light where a blackout liner does both.
