Window Shade Repair - How To Change a Blind Wand/Cord Tilter

Occasionally the tilter mechanism on a horizontal window shade is damage or breaks due to use. Here is the basic instructions for removing and replacing the a window shade cord or wand tilter on horizontal window blinds.

Step 1: Pull out the metal end caps from each end of the metal headrail.

Step 2: Pull the rod out of the middle of the wand or cord tilter that is in the headrail of the blinds.

Step 3: Push the mechanism to the right side and it will pop out from the headrail.

Step 4: Replace the mechanism, making sure it snaps at the top of the headrail. Replace the tilt rod and end caps for the horizontal blinds.
