Lowering New Horizontal Blinds for the First Time

Sometimes when horizontal blinds are manufactured the lift cords are pulled to tight. The result is that when they are lowered the first time they will not release.

How to Release Horizontal Blinds

In order to release the blinds, install them first into the window. Once the blinds have been installed, while press up on the bottom rail, pull the lift cord at an angle releasing the blinds. That's all there is to it.

Once the wood or faux wood blinds have been lowered the first time they will raise and lower without any problems.
