Privacy Upgrade & Light Control

Not only are they appealing, but decorative tapes block additional light from leaking in through the route holes on the horizontal blind slats.

Advantages

Additional Light Blockage.
Appeal.

Disadvantages

Harder to clean.

Routless Ladders

By removing the route holes in the center of each blind slat, additional light blockage is achieved. Because there is not a routed hole in the horizontal slats, the lift cord runs on the outside of the slats. A small notch is made on the edge of the slat to keep them in place.

Advantages

Additional Light Blockage.
Easier to clean(each slat can be removed).

Disadvantages

Because each slat can be removed, not recommended for homes with small children or pets.
Not recommended on door mount blinds.

Top Down Bottom Up

The top down bottom up or duofold upgrade is designed so the window shades can either be lower from the top or raised from the bottom. Lowering the shades from the top allows light to enter the room while still providing privacy.

Advantages

Allow light in, view not blocked, privacy.

Disadvantages

Additional headrail between top headrail and top of shade.
Strings in view when shade is lowered.

Privacy Liner

The privacy liner is an additional liner that is attached to the back or street side of the window shades to provide privacy as well as block light. Typically a privacy liner is used with window coverings that are not complete privacy products such as woven wood shades.

Although all liners provide privacy, they are commonly available in various grades of light blockage. Blinds Chalet Offers two grades of liners:

Privacy Liner. Blocks most light and allows for complete privacy.
Blackout Liner. Blocks all light as well as complete privacy.

Light Blockage.

Disadvantages

Added weight to the shades.
