Reduce glare with mini blinds

Researchers in Germany are working feverishly to eliminate the irritating glare from TV screens. The Christian Science Monitor reports that The Fraunhofer Institute for Mechanics of Materials are attempting to replicate the composition of a moth's eye on a TV screen to create a reflection- and glare-free surface.

Despite the work being done, the technology is still unfinished. According to Reflexite CEO Michael Foley, doing so would be a huge accomplishment.

"It's one of these Holy Grail products that if you could make it in large quantities and also have it be scratch-resistant, it would be a huge breakthrough," Foley told the news outlet.

While glare-free technology is still a thing of the future, there are ways that television viewers can take to reduce or eliminate glare. By limiting the amount of sun that enters the room is an easy way to do this and experts say this can be accomplished by installing solar screen shades.

Solar screen shades can control the amount of sunlight that filters in. Industry experts also recommend mini blinds as an alternative because they can be adjusted throughout the day to minimize glare.
