When Eliza Hart and Stuart Wright purchased their San Fransisco home, the boards were rotten and the kitchen and bathroom hadn't been updated for half a century, according to The Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

However, with a few simple renovations, the couple turned their abode into a unique residence that seems much larger than its 1,440 square feet.

They focused on creating a warm, natural aesthetic throughout the home by installing wood textures. The stairway is made from red cedar and the kitchen has walnut cabinets. The bathroom walls are made from birchwood, including the shower.

The main floors are a sweeping and beautiful white oak that isn't too pricey, but lends a simple elegance to the house.

The furniture is also very economic - one coffee table is capable of splitting up into three sections that allow for more seating options. The walls of the front rooms have been painted bold red and deep blue, so that the spaces feel much more open.

Those looking to create a warm and cozy atmosphere in their own home may want to consider hanging wood blinds in the windows. These window treatments bring a quiet dignity to any room, making it cozy and traditional.
