We are so happy with this purchase. Our home is incredily drafty and is very difficult to keep warm but we noticed a difference with the warth in the rooms right away with these blinds. I was very nervous to purchase blinds online but they are beautiful and exceeded all my expectations. My favorite feature is the top down option which I didn't think I would enjoy as much as I do!

The shade itself is very nice and well-priced.

The shade itself is very nice and well-priced. I bought it for my kitchen after I saw it in This Old House magazine, which said the fabric could be washed if necessary, unlike most. My dissatisfaction is with the poorly written installation instructions. As a veteran of installing other brands of blinds, I thought I knew all the pitfalls. My advice: clamp a metal straight edge to the top sill to act as a stop so you will get the brackets in a perfectly straight line and then the shade will snap in easily. Center the shade exactly in the window side-to-side. Then, disregard the instruction to draw the line for the side tracks; it's wrong. Instead, once the shade is up, "dry fit" the side tracks so that the shade will drop straight down. Important because if the track is a little forward or backward of the shade, the shade will catch on the track and not lower smoothly. Once you like the look of the track, then pencil down each side of the track. Center the sticky magnet between the two lines. Also, it's a better idea to tape the extra cord up to the bottom of the shade rather than cut it--you might need to adjust something in the future. Be aware that cordless shades are shipped with only one handle (even thought the instructions say you need at least two), and you will have to request the second one. This seemed odd to me. I mean, of course a 42" wide blind is going to need two handles. And the factory put the fuzzy draft strip on the front of the shade. I had to gingerly peel it off and reposition it. But on the plus side, it's a really beautiful, energy efficient, double-wall shade and it fit the opening just right.

Nice shades. Let in enough light yet keeps the hot sun from heating up the room. like the up and down option. fit was right on and installation was easy.
