How to measure for window shades BELOW an open arched windowWhen measuring for window shades that are to go below an open arch window there a few things you need to do. The first and most important is to determine the correct width. When you are installing a shade under an open arch such as a vertical shade or a horizontal cellular shade you will have to use L brackets to attach the blind to the wall. Because this is the case it is important that you give us the EXACT width of the opening MINUS 1/4 of an inch. This will assure that the L brackets will fit in the opening. When Installing mini blinds or 2" horizontal blinds the exact measurement WITHOUT any deductions taken is required as you will not need to use L brackets. As always Blinds Chalet encourages our customers to call in with any questions and assistance needed. Some shades such as woven wood shades and Soft Sheer Horizontals are not a viable choice for this type of installation as the brackets will not work with L brackets. ....................................
