Safety Upgrades

There are several ways in which you can retrofit existing blinds so they are safer for children. Continuous cord loop controls should be attached with a cord cleat at the bottom. Blinds made before 2001 should be replaced or repaired so they are child safe.

Below is a list of common safety upgrades available:

Blinds w/ this Upgrade:  Honeycomb Shades		Cordless Shades No lift cord required! Cordless shades are ideal for windows located where small children can access them. Because children can get tangled in the lift cords of window blinds, cordless shades eliminate that danger. Advantages No dangerous cords for children to play with. Appeal. Cords are not visible. Disadvantages Mechanism are not as strong and more sensitive.
Blinds w/ this Upgrade:  Roman Shades  Roller Shades  Solar Screen Shades		Remote Control/Motorization Motorization allows the window shades to opened or closed with the use of a remote control. Raise and lower your shades by use of a remote, wall control, or an automated timer. Advantages Ease of use. No dangerous cords. Appeal. Cords are not visible. Disadvantages Cost. Remote control shades can be expensive.
