Whether you're remodeling your kitchen or looking for a bit more natural light in your space, the greatest kitchens are those that integrate themselves with the outdoors. By adding a large bay window or making best use of a sliding door, window blinds and shades could be a worthy ally when upgrading your cooking area, according to ConsumerReports.org.

"A small window over the kitchen sink used to be your only connection with nature," Duo Dickinson, architect, told the news source. "Now every kitchen we do has a door leading onto the deck or patio, and there's a desire for a large window to enhance the visual connection."

When installing a large window into your kitchen, you will lose out on a bit of extra room, so prepare a place in your home for a pantry or storage area. When the window is installed, you have a wide range of window treatments that can spruce up the look of the space.

Bamboo woven wood shades are fantastic options for a kitchen with a modern or rustic aesthetic and can be custom-made to fit any window. They will instantly add warmth and will jazz up any interior design.
