Custom roller shades can offset an upholstered headboard in the bedroom
May 26 2011
Upholstered headboards are becoming a popular addition to many bedrooms, either customized to a particular décor or bought in a neutral shade to suit different design styles.
An upholstered headboard can be part of a bed ensemble.
The softened look of a fabric-covered headboard not only adds to the comfortable look that a bedroom should have, but can be made in complementary fabrics, colors and patterns to other soft furnishings in the room.
"Your bed and headboard are the focal point of your bedroom," according to the OnlineFabricStore. "For a comfortable and elegant touch, an upholstered headboard can add color, pattern, texture and interest all in one piece of furniture."
HGTV.com recommends a tailored look in upholstered headboards that will offset wood furniture usually found in bedrooms. In addition, using neutral, solid colors may give the home decorator more flexibility if they choose to change the bed ensemble. Color can be added with pillows in a variety of patterns and textures that can be changed periodically.
As a window treatment, custom roller shades will offset a variety of fabrics used for bedding and an upholstered headboard. They can be customized to suit any style décor, colors or patterns.
