When redesigning your living room this spring, there are a wealth of options available to you. However, sometimes the simplest upgrade will work to improve the aesthetic of your living room. The proper use of natural light with the help from window blinds and shades will increase the dramatic effect of your style choices, according to the Associated Press.

"I think almost everybody wants to maximize the light in their living space," Genevieve Gorder, a host for HGTV, told the news source.

Many designers recommend mirrors in the living room to effectively give the space more depth and to give the illusion of more space. Homeowners can opt for an antique mirror for an added piece of flair, or you can use smaller mirrors to put on the back of a bookshelf or several on one wall.

Above all else, increasing the daylight in your home will help to create a winning interior design. It will bring out the beauty in fabrics and furniture and will instantly liven up the space. A change of window treatments such as soft sheer shades will provide optimal light filtering ability. They could be the perfect way to add a modern touch to your home.
