Blue has always been a versatile color for any living space, but this season it seems that interior designers are going for the darker end of the spectrum to feature navy blue hues in their designs. According to The Seattle Times, HGTV's Sabrina Soto has made the color a staple in her newest home layouts.

"It doesn't feel too sweet, and it doesn't feel too masculine," Soto told the news source.

While black and white have always been the neutral shades that will go with anything, navy blue has become a welcome departure from the conventional styles. The color would be fabulous in conjunction with some vibrant spring pastels, or could work to freshen darker hues such as burnt orange or dark red.

Using window treatments with your new wall color is one of the most inexpensive ways to jazz up your space for the spring. A set of bamboo woven wood shades will be a delightful option for any space. These can be custom-built to suit any window, and they are available with a protective privacy liner. Best of all, they will inexpensively add timeless style and warmth to your living spaces.
