In an interview with the news source, Florke told of how he got his environmentally friendly designing philosophy.

"It's an approach from my frugal grandmother, who we made fun of growing up. It took until I was 25 years old to realize she'd been right," Florke told the outlet.

An easy way to go green, and save money, is to hang woven bamboo shades. Industry experts say that bamboo shades are especially environmentally friendly because, unlike other synthetic window treatments, they are made from all-natural material. Woven bamboo shades are also effective at blocking sunlight in the summer and keeping rooms warm in the winter.
