A house in western Canada recently named one of the top 100 houses by architecture experts is going on the market financialpost.com reports.

The nearly 5,000 square foot home is Springbank, Alberta is complete with five bedrooms, a wine making room, a gym and several other extravagant features. Not only is it exceptionally lush but it is eco-friendly and energy efficient. According to the realtor, Robbie O’Leary, it was all part of the plan.

"It's all about the natural environment. Living with nature. Bringing nature into the house," O'Leary told the news source.

While not everyone can have a house with such lavish furnishing, incorporating eco-friendly designs into one's own home is not nearly as difficult. Installing woven bamboo shades can be a great start for a home owner looking to go green.

According to industry experts, bamboo shades have a great deal of aestheic benefits. For one, they are among the most natural looking of window treatments. If there are plants or other nature-inspired themes in a house bamboo shades are the perfect addition. They also are energy efficient because they filter light naturally to reduce the need for artificial lighting.
