Solar shades offer temperature control for a home exercise areaFeb 25 2011 ![]() Setting aside space for a workout area doesn't have to be a dilemma for homeowners. But that doesn't mean an exercise space can't be enhanced with bold, mood-enhancing colors or functional features such as roll-away furniture, mirrors and storage space, according to the Arizona Republic. Or, if there's no room to dedicate to a workout area, it can be included in a family room or den and put away when exercising is over. Scottsdale, Arizona designer Sturling Hayes stows exercise gear in containers under her bed. "People may have a room that they just need to clean out and convert," she told the newspaper. "But everyone can't do that, so you carve out spaces in your home where you can keep things pretty camouflaged." If there's a room that has been relegated to storage, it may be converted into an exercise corner, with a permanent spot for an exercise bike and other equipment staff behind a screen or in a cabinet. For a workout space, solar shades are a good choice to reduce glare on a TV screen while an exercise video is played and to help regulate room temperature during workout sessions.
