Blinds and shades offer more safety and convenience than ever
Feb 22 2011
Today's window treatment market is a smattering of fabrics, materials and color styles that has expanded exponentially over the past few decades. Along with technical innovations and consumer protection laws, window blinds and shades have numerous looks that can be worked into any environment and beautifully complement the decor, according to The Washington Examiner.
Today's window treatments are far more versatile and safer than their predecessors.
"Today blinds are much more functional and do more than one thing," Kim Kiner, vice president of product design for Hunter Douglas, told the news source. "A growing trend is to use blinds in layering. Products such as silhouette window shadings with soft fabric vanes that are suspended between sheer facings, are superior at this."
Blinds are made from more materials than ever, including wood, polyester, fabric, bamboo and aluminum. In addition, many manufacturers are moving towards energy-efficient designs that use double cells to protect from the chill of the outside air or summer heat leaking into your home. Whatever you decide, consumers have plenty to choose from to meet their interior design needs.
Honeycomb Cellular shades offer superior insulating qualities for your home that could reduce your utility bills. In addition, they are available in room darkening and blackout cell shades.
