Feb 10 2011
One of the United States' largest homebuilders has begun construction on a model home in Las Vegas that they believe will be the greenest production home ever built in Sin City. Meritage Homes' design will be deconstructed so that consumers can see all of the energy-saving features that will be incorporated into their new homes.
Meritage Homes has begun constructing a model home that will be the most energy-efficient production home ever built in Las Vegas.
One of the revolutionary technologies that has been built into this new line of homes is spray-foam insulation. This innovative product will seal in air conditioning while keeping dirt and pollution out of the house. Meritage Homes believes that this new kind of insulation and home building technology could save consumers up to 60 percent off the cost of their utility bills.
Meritage Homes will put on a display of their new technology for media and interested consumers on Friday, February 11 at the Northern Terrace at Providence master-planned community in Centennial Hills. This fast-forming insulation could revolutionize the way homes are built in Las Vegas and throughout the country.
If you're looking to improve energy efficiency in your own home, honeycomb cellular shades could be a cost-effective option. These provide additional insulation for your home that can keep air conditioning and heat inside your home to reduce the costs of utility bills.
