A new restaurant in London, Dinner by Heston Bulmenthal, has explored innovative ways to capture a free and luxurious feeling and, whether that means ancient recipes or a blend of rustic and refined elements, it is sure to attract the attention of the design world.

WorldInteriorDesignNetwork.com reports that one of the biggest themes inside the restaurant is a touch 16th century British style, the result is a space that is equal parts traditional and contemporary.

For example, a state-of-the-art steel pulley system is installed in the kitchen, but it is designed in the time-honored way of a centuries-old cooking instrument. Likewise, a wall in the bar area shows recipes that are copies of those from cook books of the 1500s.

The restaurant itself boasts colors such as ivory palettes, and is replete with wall sconces that reflect the shape of ancient jelly molds.

Creating a unique twist of old and new elements can seem difficult when it comes to window treatments. However, wooden blinds can add a touch of natural grace to any space and will also create a timeless look of sophistication.
