There's nothing quite like decking out a room to celebrate the holiday season, but many homeowners may be at a loss when it comes to finding creative and fun ways to make a space reflect the colors of this special time of year.

ABC affiliate KIVI recently shared tips that can help amateur designers exercise their creative muscles without breaking the bank. One way to do this is to use tree ornaments for different decorations around the room.

This can be an especially effective way of exhibiting fancy pieces that are otherwise difficult to see when hanging from the boughs. Putting glass or decorative ornaments on a pedestal or hanging from the ceiling can add some glitter and elegance to any room.

In the dining room, one can use ornaments as place cards, writing the names of guests on balls in glitter and hanging them from the seats. One can even apply them to wreaths for some extra colorful flair.

Flashy window treatments can also inspire some holiday cheer. Roman shades are beautiful shades that are available in a variety of different patterns and colors that are sure to be good decorations for any celebration.
