Keep design simple with solar screen shades

When homeowners are trying to decorate their abodes with a certain theme, they often spring for many different elements that will encapsulate the look and feel that they are trying to create. However, interior designer Sarah Larson recently claimed that, with home design, simple may be better, according to The Argus Leader.

Too many elements "can be distracting and lose [their] effect," she told the news provider. Instead, Larson recommends sticking with one or two elements, for a tasteful and understated atmosphere.

Demarcating different parts of a room can easily be achieved by adding rugs or arranging furniture in a certain way. For example, clustering couches together with a carpet between them can designate that space as a conversation area, the news source reports.

Creative lighting solutions can go a long way as well. Stringing Christmas lights along a doorway or ceiling can create a soft glow during late night parties or intimate gatherings.

Subtle window treatments may also be effective and simple for interior design. Hanging solar screen shades in windows that look out across gardens or landscapes can be a natural way to incorporate outdoor scenery into the decorations.
