Roman shades can make a bedroom calm and comforting

Veteran interior designer Debbie Travis, the star of All For One, recently sat down with The Metro to discuss some design tips for those looking to turn their attention to the bedroom.

She claims that these rooms are made for self-expression, so it is important to feel comfortable and calm in them. Many ideas can be taken from luxury hotels, which specialize in creating similar environments. 

"I think it's a matter of turning your bed into something really amazing," Travis told the news provider. She added that using colorful linens and having an oversized headboard can replicate that feeling of splendor. 

She also recommends putting lamps and side tables on both sides of the bed in order to create a sense of symmetry. 

Another element that can be added to the room is a rug, which Travis claims has become more popular in recent years. This piece can be used both to add a burst of color to the floor and keep it warm in the winter.
