In New Iberia, Louisiana, accomplished traveler Gordon Doerle's two-room home, with $1.5 million in renovations, is sure to draw eyes from the foyer to the back hall, as it is as eccentric as it is eclectic, according to The Daily Comet.

The front entrance resembles the Ritz Carlton in France, boasting ornate, marble columns and an immense, wooden door imported from the same country. Inside, the home is a wide, open living space that has a modern kitchen and full-service bar, but a minimalist aesthetic that resonates with a proud, traditional feeling.

The 120-inch television hovers above a marble fireplace with carved figurines, and the pool behind the home resembles a lake, and part of it is covered by a tiled dome influenced by the castles of Versailles, the news source reports.

Couches in the living room, as well as a bedroom, are made with real alligator skin, adding a wild and mystical look to the spaces.

When homeowners decide to decorate their home to fully reflect their interests, it may be difficult to find window treatments that can adequately go along with them. Fortunately, horizontal fabric shades are a versatile window treatment that are available in multiple patterns and colors that can suit any design scheme.
