Designer gives five teacher's lounges impressive upgrades

Being a teacher can be a difficult task, so having a relaxing lounge to collect one's thoughts is essential. The New York Times reports that a nonprofit group called TeachersCount recently remade five lounges in five schools in five states in less than three months as a thank you to hard-working educators.

The project was taken on by interior designer Brian Patrick Flynn who, because of the time constraints, could not visit each school in person and had to design their layout simply by looking at photos and sending text messages to the individuals who were doing the work.

According to the news source, the school that required the most attention was Samuel W. Bridgham Middle School in Providence, Rhode Island. The room was comprised of cinderblock walls and linoleum floors. Flynn upgraded it by hanging window treatments, adding carpeting and painting the walls a soft pale blue.
