Decorating a home can certainly be a harrowing process and there are a litany of areas where people can make mistakes. With so many places to furnish, dressing the windows can easily be overlooked.

According to TheSunNews.com, window dressing is one of the most common problems when it comes to decorating a house.

While experts agree that window treatments can do wonders for a room, selecting the appropriate blinds may be difficult.

"Eighty-four inches is too short for a lot of windows, and 90 inches is sometimes too short too," interior decorator Renee Hill told the news source. "The window treatment should be mounted high because it makes the room appear larger. It balances out the treatment with the room."

Improper lighting can become a concern, too. Experts suggest adjustable sheer shades with horizontal or vertical vanes so that the homeowners can control the amount of light let in. Shutters can aid in fixing lighting as well.
