College students who are moving out of the house and preparing to live in a new dorm room or apartment may want to check their final list of supplies and see if they have enough items to furnish the space, according to The Las Vegas Review-Journal.

"Many of the things that a young person would perceive to be important aren't necessarily the things, practicality wise, that are important," Ross Manning, a father of two college students, told the news source.

He claims that some essentials that may be forgotten are towels, sheets, pillows and a comforter for colder weather. Bedding can also be an important aspect to the room because it can be a good way to add a splash of color and personality.

Bed risers can also be handy, because they can provide a student with extra storage space beneath the bed, which can be very important in a small dorm room. Additionally, storage bins may be useful for keeping the wires and cords associated with electronics such as phones and laptops.

Experts claim that daylight can help keep students awake and focused when they are committed to their studies. Solar screen shades can achieve this effect by filtering the glare of the sun, while still allowing the scenery and shine of the outdoors into the room.
