Noise reduction shades great in city homes

While living in the city may boast many advantages - great restaurants, shops and music venues a mere minute away - city dwellers must also deal with the constant noise of traffic and other residents.

According to The News Tribune, the city council of Bellingham, Washington, is considering a new ordinance requiring sound meter measurements to determine if noise complaints are valid, in an effort to control the commotion.

"In addition to what the council is discussing, I think that sound-proofing downtown clubs would be very helpful in reducing the noise," legislative policy analyst Mark Gardner told The Western Front Online.

No verdict has yet been reached on how the city plans to deal with the noisy situation, but individuals who want to reduce the outside noise that disturbs their homes may want to install noise reduction shades.

Noise reduction shades trap sound the same way traditional blinds trap light and UV rays. The technologically advanced window coverings are available in a variety of styles, so they will blend well with many decors.

New parents may also want to hang these shades in their baby's room to prevent outside sounds from waking their child.
