A couple's once-idyllic life on Cape Cod has been disrupted by the recent arrival of a 400-foot-tall wind turbine less than 1,500 feet from their house. The Cape Cod Times reports that Neil and Elizabeth Anderson have had a hard time coping with the noise eminating from the nearby nusiance.

Elizabeth has reportedly suffered some hearing damage, and has been struggling with vertigo in past weeks.

"We're seriously thinking about selling our home and getting out of here," Neil Andersen told the news source. "I have headaches and my head is spinning. My wife wakes up crying her head off. We don't know what to do."

While many homeowners do not face quite as significant a disturbance as the Andersens, the daily flow of traffic and other annoyances can certainly be disrputive. Hanging cellular shades can be an effective way to dampen noise and can allieviate some of the headaches associated with it.

Along with noise reduction capabilities, cellular shades can alo improve a home's energy efficiency because their structure is perfect for providing insulation.
