Honeycomb cellular shades offer respite from heat wave
Although the Northeast reported record temperatures earlier this week, it certainly was not the only area of the country experiencing sweltering heat. The Fresno Bee reports that residents of central California have been trying to find ways to beat the heat.

The Fresno County Public Library provides a respite from the heat by allowing residents to stay in the air conditioning and read, play Nintendo Wii or use the computer. Some residents like Eugene Banks told the news source that laying low is their ideal solution.

"I try to find some shade," Banks told the news provider. "If I'm not in the shade, I try to stay cool by drinking a lot of fluids."

For those that do not want to turn on the air conditioning but would still like keep their house cool, hanging honeycomb cellular shades is an effective way to block heat. These window treatments not only reduce energy costs by limiting the amount of time the air conditioning is on, but can also stop damaging UV rays from filtering in.

"Cellular window treatments are so versatile in the manner in which they work," says Chris Stanley of Blinds Chalet.
