'Top down bottom up' window shades allow light and privacy at the same timeAug 26 2011 ![]() Adding duo fold shades to a home allows light to stream in without compromising privacy. The blinds company offers a wide range of window shades that come in duofold or "top down bottom up" options as an upgrade to their standard styles. As the company's website explains, "The duofold or top down bottom up upgrade is designed to allow light into through the window but still give privacy … [and] you can either raise or lower the shades." This option is available in cellular shades, bamboo shades and roman shades. While there is an additional fee for the upgrade, Blinds Chalet currently has a special sale on duofold roman shades that allows the consumer to buy three shades and get one free. The duofold roman shades come in solid print, textured linen, suede and satin as well as woven woods. The satin shades are particularly well-suited to a décor that features many soft furnishings, such as the ensembles found in a bedroom. "Satin roman shades provide a classic satin look to your windows with features such as the uninterrupted flow of fabric from the headrail to bottom rail," states the website.
