The problem that I encountered was that all of the blinds except one arrived with the piece that operates the tilt of the blinds came out during shipping and did not work properly. Many years ago when Laveen was first settled, it was a farming and dairy community. The main crops were cotton, alfalfa and dairy farms. Today, the area is just south of the downtown Phoenix area is becoming a more suburban area for families to settle. Laveen is near the Gila and Salt Rivers and offers great outdoor activities. When developers started designing communities, they were pushed to design them with a more western feel and include equestrian trails to keep with the history of the area. The community covers an area of about 48 square miles and the population today includes just over 9000 residents as of 2007. Laveen offers many great events to enjoy throughout the year including the Laveen Pit BBQ, the Egg Hunt, Turkey Trot and Dairy Dash just to name a few.
